local pawn has a model 2 i think ...with original case...
headstock waqs broken but dowled so it is playable but looks like shit ..i was thinking more of a parts geetar anyway ...red body original pups and trem fort worth badge, in in good shape and comes with the original giant charvel logo case for $125..
what ya guys think? ...pick it up or pass ?

I got an almost mint one from a pawn shop for $116 maybe 18-24 months ago. I traded it off to Slayer, but now I've got GAS for one and want it back. :^|

I'm from Europe and 125 dollars for a model 2, to me, is AMAZINGLY CHEAP. But that's just me. Pawn shops here have nothing. And damn you for finding the best deals [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

It is amazingly cheap, good price. But the broken and hastily fixed neck hurts the deal.

I'd buy it for that price with the case. Model series necks are fairly cheap. But then again i want another Mod 2 pretty bad heh.

Figure somewhere in the $60 - $80 range for a neck. The body & hardware look pretty nice. If you can haggle him down to $100 cash because of the neck repair, you'd be getting into good deal territory, imo.

checked it out again tonight ...its about 3 blocks from home...body is in alot better shape than i thought nothin down to wood [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] and the headstock repair looked like some thought went into it..

Model 2's on eBay have been scoring around $300. $100 for guitar and another $100 for a neck and you're $100 to the good if you ask me.

even with old rusty strings and fret cheese its a fun little player i'll get some better pics after i clean it up

well it cleaned up pretty good ..headstock integrity is not an issue.... was rock solid when i took it off to uncheese the frets [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] i think a bit of sanding ,some paint and a new decal ...be good to go cosmetically

Cool. I think you did well at that price, even if a new neck is in the cards. Maple board would look awesome w/ red! BTW, have you checked the intonation yet? The position of the saddles kinda jumped out at me as being odd. PM re the locking screw returned. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
