Why are some Model series Charvel logo's faded?

My Model 6 Charvel logo is as white as the day it left the factory yet my Model 3's is a dark yellow like some of the older San Dimas Charvels.

Did that occour due to excess light or were some years and models more prone to this?

I'm willing to bet that the Model 6 spent most of the time in the case & the Model 3 spent most of the time out in the light.

Mind you they are both in pretty near mint condition so.....

I've come to the conclusion that it is the clearcoat that yellows with time (and exposure to the elements). My model 6 is faded into a beautiful creamy bone white color - yet where the clearcoat is worn down, it is a lot brighter. I think it was originally in snow white pearl.
