correct, Tom, the Model 7 was the tele and the Model 8 was the Spectrum/Jeff Beck styled strat.

ahh, I am thinking the spectrum was never a 'model' as its a toothpaste. So a 3 single p/u model with the old logo was made with a reverse hs and it was called an 8? ... the synapses are starting to fire, I recall something like this.

wow, they made the spectrum with the gold logo. Is that a Kahler nut or a floyd? looks floyd.

Hmmm, there's one fs near me (not mine) on craigslist. Are they pretty rare? This guy would probably think $200 was a great deal...

That one is actually a Spectrum, the one in the pic above is a Model 8. To me it's also not $700 rare...

Tom- it looks like a floyd style locknut to me as well and not the Kahler type.

Re: Who snagged the model 8 off MGR\'s sight?

Fushia is a finicky color. Nice for some, terrible for others (no insult to Dave's refin) so its resale is questionable. No Spectrum is worth 700.00 as Dave mentions IMO.
Altho that one on Craigslist is very clean and looks in nice shape, these guitars are about 250-300, possibly a little higher depending on condition for a toothpaste logo.
I have not seen a model 8 for sale, but I also don't shop Charvel model's everyday. I would say even tho they are basically the same guitar, they are likely going for a little more $hing.

I thought the red Spectrum on MGR was $249? They dropped it $49 bucks in a week? Dave did you score it? haha

The model 8 and spectrum had a schaller floyd. It also had a sweep freq circuit in it. They had some high quality componants on it. I have one, didnt care much for the sweep circuit thing so ripped it out and couldnt handle a single in the bridge so put in a SD humbucker. Plays great, not sure on the looks though........
