    Can you charvel experts identify this axe? It looks like a combination of model 3 and 4. It has active electronics, jackson tremolo(jt-6?) an dot inlays. Is it some strange charvel model that I'm unaware of, or just a neck swap?

    Model 4a?

    Hard to tell because there isn't much documentation on it.

    It's possible that someone switched out a Model 4 or 4M neck with a Model 2 or 3 neck.

        I had one like that. My theory was a very early 87 model with the JT6 but no sharks. Maybe mine was a neck swap too, dunno. It sure didn't look like it had ever been screwed with though.

            There was a price list or catalog scan (on Jacksonmuseum, iirc) that had the Model 4A. Can't remember the year, but '87 makes sense. It was the only time I've ever seen it, and I really wish I had saved the pic.
