How rare are these guitars, i have been looking for one for about 10 years and every time i find one they always elude me. any info on this finish is greatly appreciated.

Did you see the one on eBay last week? It went for a little over $400. I love the crackle finishes!

yeah, i was the high bidder at 415.86 with 28 secs to go and got bid out. i was sick. my wife even felt sorry for me.LOL

My wife was telling me to go higher, but I decided to wait. I had been fighting for an older soloist, and I didn't want to use funds from one place to pay another. I really thought that it was a cool guitar that would have been nice to have in my stable.

Nope........ I fought myself and my wife with the bidding. I usually don't fight her! If she says get it, I usually HAVE to take advantage of it!! Guitars are just NOT a big thing in HER life. It's a real 80s style graphic...as you saw with that Washburn auction a lot of 'em got painted over...so yeah they are getting harder to find.

I can't really stand crackle finishes, but I have to say the old J/C Desert Crackle looks great. Almost bought a 650XL in that finish, but she went a little too high for my wallet...

I have an 88 dinky with the real small fire crackle (LTD run) and it looks killer.

My Desert Crackle 475 looks good, I like it. I'd be just as ok with it if it were white tho.

meh, I sold my 375 desert crackle body in favor of a custom flame finish predator body that had better tone and the HS pup configuration.

I haven't looked back.
