JCF Syndrome: A Sky Blue Charvette - Bolt on Neck SN:003348, Ft. Worth Plate caught my eye.

I assume that it was made in Japan, and has no sought after value. Right?

The entire guitar is in need of an adjustment. Her fingerboard is really dry like the desert. Pick-ups: 2 singles and a double with a 5 way slotted seem good.

Looks like Cinderella got lost with no slippers! pretty face no one saw.

I dont need a project.

I just wanted to share this orphan with the JCF Experts. Any thoughts JCF buddies?

What clue does that serial number give?
What year was she made? Shes not a bootleg..

Someone could put Sun in her Sky and make her blue birds sing.

Who cares?

(edited for spelling)

Gee.. I hate to tell you.

But if it WAS made in Japan.. it would be worth something.

Charvette is perhaps the worst guitar line ever to be put out by Jackson/Charvel.. mostly plywood bodies made in Korea...

(At least the neck is okay, but the body..ugh)

Play her if you enjoy her, but don't spend any money, you're only throwing good money after bad..

Just my opinion, tho.

Thank you for the reply.

The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Electric Guitars book says that in 1989 the Charvette line was introduced aimed at the entry level player manufactured in Korea.

The little Made in Japan sticker on the neck plate must be a mistake...

I have no interest in buying the guitar. It is in a second hand shop window in Manhattan NY and has no price.

I asked to look at it while I waited for a to go dinner order from thre restaurant next door.

Hmm... Thats interesting. Theres been a Charvette floating around here for a while that says that it was made in Japan too. I just figured it was wrong... But perhaps there were a few.

Anything is possible, but I would think unlikely.

The whole point of the "Charvette" line was to make them dirt cheap.

As labour costs in Japan were not that much cheaper than U.S.. I'm sure the line was made elsewhere. I know the Jackson factory was exclusive to the Charvel and "
professional" lines in Japan..

You could be refering to a "mutt"

A "made in Japan" sticker can be put on anything.

I'd look for a Charvette neck that had "made in Japan" stamped or otherwise embeded into the wood before I was convinced.

There never was a "made in Japan" neckplate.

Maybe the necks were made in Japan and shipped to Korea for attachment to the plywood bodies...

The guitars were made in Korea,
but the stickers were 'Made in Japan'...
