They're all beauties, Dave! I'd love to try out one of the trans finished ash ones. Do you notice a very big tonal difference compared to the solid colored (basswood) ones? Probably gonna go ahead & try out those Rio Grandes in my Model 7, too, & keep it as a bluesy axe rather than put Hot Rails in. Something about the neck just puts me in a blues & classic rock mindset, so why fight it?

Your pictures are crisp and nice, but here's a tip for ya' - you probably already know this, but just in case:
When shooting indoor and relatively close-up, you should use a powerful add-on flash (not the build-in) and mount a piece of white polystyrene or card on top of it and point the flash upwards. The hard light will bounce off of this and spread more evenly and your pictures will become more soft and warmer in color. More natural. Here's a couple of pictures from a DIY'er:

I'd like to know too. My black basswood one is so heavy that I thought it was ash...The only solution to GAS is DEATH...

dg, photographing shiny metal or chrome like your neck plate is THE worst task for an auto-focus camera. Manual mode is the answer - and a little look in the manual perhaps
I miss the continuation of your Ibanez "Star" project, bro. Maybe i missed it, i don't know. Nice to see you're still around.

Again, thank you for the kind words!
Henrik, I'll give something like that a try, thanks for the tip!
As for sound comparison, eventually I may put a set of rios in the sunburst so then maybe I can give you a closer review of the sound difference.
Chance (potato), it was pleasure, my friend, talk to you soon!Dave ->
"would someone answer that damn phone?!?!"
