Thanks Doc...are the Mod 1's of good quality or are they junk? I'm looking at one right now for $350 but I don't know if it's worth that much. I cna't even tell by the photo if it's a recessed Floyd or surface mount.

Nope, thats too much. In the $200 area is the norm. Great guitars for the buck, BTW.

regardless of whether it's recessed or not, if it's got a Floyd (or licensed version) then it's not a Model 1

If you want to know what people around here think of the Model series guitars, just check around here. A lot of people here own 'em.

the model series is the best bang for the buck period.
they go for about $200, but i have gotten a couple of model 3's in the $150 range.
the model series has some of the fastest necks i have ever played.
i upgrade the electronics on mine and it sounds better than many guitars under the $1000 range.

The model series are the best guitars for the money period.
Basswood bodies model 1thru4
Maple/poplar models 5-6 neck thru.

1 hum vintage trem 3 singles vintage trem

1 hum jt 6 trem (floyd pat)

Correct except for 1 thing, the early model 2's didn't have a JT6, they had the kahler fulcrum type trem.

its a Model 2. You could get 2 of them for $300. I personally think they are worth 300 each though. Great guitars but that market value is 150-200 each. As everyone stated....best guitar bang for the buck. I have four model series that I replaced pickups, added OFR's.
I don't think Doc would have an ass load of the model guitars *see his pic of his model stable) if they weren't great players.
