  • Charvel necks

I've got a doubt: The necks on Charvel Models 2, 3 and 4; are they the same? I mean, the same quality, profile, scale, size of frets, wood, etc.

      Re: Charvel necks

That's cool! So, the amazing neck on a Model 4 will be the same as the one on a Model 2. I asked this because I spotted a Model 2 for 150 euros ($170 more less) at a pawn shop and I may go and buy it.

I just had doubts whether it has the same quality of higher model numbers.

Only the Model 4 and up had mother of pearl inlays. Most had sharkfins. So a Model 2 neck will be made of maple and have a rosewood or maple fingerboard, but it will lack genuine mother of pearl inlay. Also, the Charvel 475 had neck and headstock binding, which the 375 and down lacked. But as far as quality and structure, they were the same.
