Will someone who has a readable version of an 89-91 catalog please tell me which pickups were put in the Fusion Specials? And which model Schaller tremolo. Many thanks.

Re: Fusion Special
It's how they're wired in the switch. They act independantly as well as in series.
The easiest was to figure the out for yourself the legitimacy of Tekky's answer is to plug it in and take a screwdriver and attempt to figure out how it's wired.
All the way down or pos1 = single coil mode closest to the bridge, pos2 = dual coil in bridge (1st and 2nd p/u in phase), pos3 (or middle)= again the 1st & 2nd, but it sounds like the one closest to the bridge is out of phase, pos4 = 2nd and neck with the 2nd out of phase, pos5 = neck single.
Thats just a guess, it's been a bit since I've played one or taken it apart.

Re: Fusion Special
The Specials do not have Jackson J200 pickups, they are Charvel branded import copies of the J200 (BTW they are stacked singles not mini hums if you want to get nit picky ).
And the 5 way switch is wired just like a stock Strat

Re: Fusion Special
I did something kind of messed up to my fusion special. I put a seymour duncan mini-screamin demon in the bridge position. For lead it was ok, very interesting. It sounded like one was playing with the wah pushed all the way down, but it was really thin and noisy for rythm. I switched with the pickup that lies just above it (without redoing the wiring ) And that beefed it up big time. Now when I play lead it sounds like the wah is half-way down, but the rythms have some needed chunk to them along with a ferocious bite.
I love this guitar! (the bridge is my only complaint - bad floyd design)
