Kahler trem?

I just bought a model 3 from Ray and it has a trem on it that I've never seen before. It is a double locking trem, and it has what looks like unshielded bare wire leads coming of the bottom section, underneath the tail piece. they are part of the saddles. Does anybody know what kind of trem this is? On the saddles, there are little brass things that the strings rest on.

Those guitars came with either the JT-6 or the Kahler Fulcrum. Do you have a pic??

        Re: Kahler trem?

The Kahler Traditional trems did have options that were a hex MIDI, or piezo. It could be either one, and upgraded by the previous owner..............

          Re: Kahler trem?

The midi ones have a PC board attached to the trem block and a little red LED near the arm socket. If it is just a wire coming out, it is a piezo model.

I'll click a pic and post it. It has no identifiable markings anywhere on it. There is a sticker, but it is pretty much rubbed clean. does anyone have pic's of the JT-6 or the Kahler Fulcrum?

              Re: Kahler trem?

The leads are attached to the saddles, which would probably mean it has some sort of piezo function. What I'm on the hunt for is the little brass insert that goes into the saddle. I am missing one. It's flat, and slides into the front top portion of the saddle. The edges are kinda bent alittle to hold it in, and the string rests on this piece. You do not cut the ball end of the string off with this model trem. The ball rests in the screw that screws into the saddle. Funky sh*t!

Certainly looks like the Midi version of the Kahler but it's missing the circuit board. Unless there was a piezo version(which I kinda doubt they put that in something like this back then).

Oh, Rockinger was located in West Germany!

It is most certainly a Rockinger trem. I thank you lerxstcat for identifying this for me.

It is a rockinger, I used to have one on an old Kramer. Not bad trems but they weren't double locking.
