Anybody else got one? I don't recall seeing them mentioned much.

Re: Model 5?

Hey there, I have a nice looking black cherry Model 5. One of my favorite players Also working on a Model 5a with a charcoal sketch graphic. I'm in the clearing stage but with the work I'm doing lately, I'm not sure when it's getting done

Over 1500 members and only two model 5 owners out there?
They aren't particularly rare are they?

No, you see them from time to time. I'd say at least 1/month. Not everyone stands up and posts.

I should correct myself and say I used to not know anything about Kahlers. I'm getting the crash course nowadays.

Re: Model 5?

> I have a Model 5,and it rules. It was originally Cobalt Blue, when ordered by a local shop. It fell or got knocked off the hanger in the store, breaking off the low E corner of the headstock, and cracking the body right thru the hole for the tone pot. It was sent back, repaired and refinned in Vintage Ivory, which has of course aged into a sweet creamy patina. It was kept by the shop owner for a few years, then sold to another local player. I found it in the local pawnshop several years ago,for 175 bucks. It had been semi-abused,as there are finish chips on the headstock now,as well as several other blemishes. Playability wise,it needs a new nut, refret, and new hardware,as the old stuff is just plain worn out. This one just sings, has that special vibe, and I wanted it the first time I saw it,so I keep it. It also somehow survived our house fire, making it all the more special. I am just about to get a sweet 5A from ToeJam,so it's all good. Tommy D.

Not a 5, but a 5A, does that count? Great playing guitar, fantastic feel & solidity, but suitable for a 43 year old blues/rock hack to play in public? Nope
