I don't think so Tekky. Everyone knows the Model 101 only came with a rosewood fretboard and reverse headstock. Looks like a 102M to me.

I thought "Charbanjo" was the name given to the later toothpaste logo version....

No, that was the 101XL - toothpaste logo, sharkfins and binding on the neck.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That is a Model 101, it has a rosewood board, the lighting in the picture is misleading. Notice the white dot inlay? Besides the 102M also had a coil tap for the humbucker. And the Floyd Lo-Pro-Jo tremolo.. (try saying that 3 times fast!!)

And Yes, the Charbanjo was the Script logo'd version, but they're in essence, the same animal...

Actually, if you look closely at the classic Savatage Charvel ad, you can just make out a Charbanjo laying against the wall to one side. Only in the landscape version of the ad though, it's cropped out of the standard portrait layout, as used by most of the guitar mags

That is actually Criss Oliva's "mutt" Charbanjo. It's a Model 101 body with the Bixby-licensed non-trem BanJ-Lo tailpiece (wider than the standard), with a 102M neck - KDM (Korean Dark Maple) board with MOP (Mother of Plastic) dot inlays.

I heard there was a custom shop version with a Jackson neck made for that guy in the movie "Deliverence"

I think he moved on to Kramer after failing to get an endorsment.

This is a 103-A. They had two hums, vol, tone, 5-way, and an OFR.

Actually, it's an imposter 101. Note the position of the 12th fret dots. Likely a fake. Not to mention, the Charbanjo had chrome hardware.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Actually I would say that we have vivid imaginations... (or just a great ability to BS about Charvels)
