• Was there a model guitar with 2 hummers?

I've really been getting into Steve Morse lately, and he's damn keen on using his neck humbucker. But you probably already knew that

Now, I've found a mint model 4, and it has a H-S-S setup. I would've bought it in a heartbeat if it had 2 hummers

Now, to my question! Were there, officially , any model guitars made, which had 2 humbuckers?

And if I buy the model 4, how hard is it to route a hole for a neck hummer?

Thanx a million

yea, one of the Model 3 variations had 2 hums. The Model 5 too, if you prefer neck thru.

Popping one into the neck pos. would be no prob for a pro. Plenty of room there for it

Couldn't I just throw in a hot rail in neck position?
Here's a pic:

The singles in your guitar are stacked already but you could put a hot rails in the neck but you will have to do some body work to make it fit

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Do those stacked singe coils have high output? OR are they stacked to cancel all the hum?

Didn't Charvel make dual blade pups as well? I think a saw some on a fusion custom not too long ago

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The stacked singles are made to sound like hotter quite single coils. You can use a JBjr or lil59 they sound good, but not quite like the fullsize humbucker versions

I might as well post a pic of my 3A for ya

Dual blade? You speaking of the J200R Single coils? They were dual rail single coils..

... and that 3A is sweeet!

Here's my modified Charvel 3A, I call it the "Model 3AM"...

Harrald, your single coil routings are just oval shaped. Hot Rails have a lip on them and will not just drop in those openings. The best way to do it is to "undercut" at the bottom of the opening you have so that you can "tilt" the pickup in sideways when installing it so that you don't ruin the appearance of the face of body. Or you can just rout the opening to fit the pickup but that looks like hell if it's not done correctly. Did this help at all? I hope so, it makes sense to me

I thought Dimarzio & Seymour Duncan both offered "lip-less" versions of all their single coils on request now? Or is that option not available on the Hot Rails?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I know Duncan does, in fact the hot/coolrails, jb jr, li59 seem to be produced with/without lips in some sort of random fasion.
