      It seems some of the later Model series guitars came with the Kahler Floyd-style locknut. I hadn't heard of an 88 guitar with them before, but my friend has an 89 Model 6 (one of the last I guess) with that lock nut as standard issue.

        Here's my pair of '88 Model Sixes. One with the behind-the-nut lock, and one with the Floyd lock-nut (Factory).

        The only solution to GAS is DEATH...

              You're looking at the wrong one. The one with the Gotoh has the lock behind the nut. The other one with the factory lock-nut has the normal JT-6.
