a buddy of mine is looking for a good guitar for under 300 to write and record riffs in his bedroom. he is the drummer of his band, and does not want a guitar equiped with a floyd rose. i suggested to him a model 2 i found with a standard bridge, one hum, one volume, red with a maple board. he is currently torn between that and a half price new ltd from GC. i'm trying to convince him to do the right thing here, since i know my model series guitars playability is comparable to my neck through rhoads. but i think he's too concerned about the giutar looking too hairmetal (which i love by the way). what would you guys say to him about this?

Single hum / Single volume / v-trem = Model 1.

If that's his only concern tell him to paint it brown or something.....would take the "hair" look right out of it! It would make him a killer guitar though (especially if it's a model 1 cause they are kinda conservative anyway)
