  • Is there a place I can find old Charvel color charts?

Do these exist anywhere on the net? I've just about got mine ID'd, but it's got a unique paintjob that I can't figure out. It's a toothpaste logo 375 deluxe, I think, so probably between 1989 and 1992. If anyone's got a catalog listing or a color chart they could link, I'd be so thankful. This has been a long, long, long search.

    Thanks.
    Craig.

An attempt at describing the finish

It's not a cherryburst, but it sort of resembles that, it's light in the middle and fades to a darker orange. The other thing is, it's sort of wavy, akin to the Solar finish that Jackson offers now smashed together with the amber burst. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow if you can't solve it, but it's not technically mine yet. Fellow from work is selling it to me, we started off thinking it was USA San Dimas and now look where we are, so..long trip. Sorry I can't be more accurate, this is my first Charvel.

        Thanks.
        Craig.

Sounds like amber burst over a flame maple cap. Not a particularly unique finish, but they are nice guitars. They have the flamed maple front & back. I just missed out on one that sounds just like yours a couple of years ago.

Does it look anything like this one? http://www.jcfonline.com/gallery/cha...cs/327642b.jpg

I just found an example of a cherryburst 375 at Chris' guitars (mislabelled as a 475): http://www.chrisguitars.com/charv90-475dlx-exotic.jpg

              Hm.

That's not it, I'm afraid. It's closer to this http://www.jcfonline.com/gallery/images/2348.jpg . Only thing is, the one I'm trying to figure has more defined borders between the yellow in the middle and the orange on the edge, it's more symmetrically wavy and the orange doesn't creep in as far on the blades as it does on that one. Hope this gets your brain working.

              Craig.

                  Close, but...

not quite. mine's brighter, and it doesn't go to red at the edge, it's more of a pale orange...the edges are also thinner, the orange doesn't come that close to the pickups.

Sorry to put you all through all this.

                  Craig.
