  • What's my Charvel? Now with pictures!

Continuation from last night. I finally got some pictures today. I would love to know if it's a 375 deluxe, and also the exact year - I heard somewhere that the paint job can be used to identify the year of import Charvels, but I don't know what this one is called. The pickups are missing, but it's going to be replaced with stock in the neck and middle, and my choice in the bridge. If someone could give me the model name of the stock middle and neck pickups that would be in this thing, i'd be so thankful. Here we go:

If you can help me out, let me know.

    Thanks.
    Craig.

that's a 375 alright. They were only made between 89 and 91, so you're looking at a fairly narrow time frame anyway. I'm not sure what that finish is called (orange burst?), but unless it was only offered for a year or two, it's going to be hard to narrow it down any more than that.

Nice guitar, btw. She looks well looked after.

      375 Deluxe

Can't narrow the year though, maybe '90 or '91

Thanks for the help - any idea what the stock pickups are called? that'll be the last piece of my mystery. My 375 is in showroom condition. We have an Eldritch Flames Jackson DK-2 at work that's almost identical other than the paintjob..even though it's over 10 years later, the parts are interchangeable. A workmate and I even put the Jackson neck on this without any problem. Simply amazing. We're going to custom this, take out the tone, and put in one of those switches that enables all 3 pickups at once. It'll be my cheesy 80s rock guitar.

        You guys rock.
        Craig.

+1 on what the others said.

          Best bet:

          Charvel 375 Deluxe
J-100 true single coils (not bi-level humbuckers)
          J-50B humbucker
Flame maple top & back was an option
          Cherry sunburst finish
          1990 - 1991

Maple board was an option too.

Pretty sure the color is "Transparent Amber"

The Charvel 375 you have is indeed Trans Amber. However, Ron, that Fusion Pro next to J. Hayes is Cherry Sun Burst. See page 57 of the 1990-91 catalog...

According to old catalogs, the bridge pickup should be a J-90C

J-90c is correct, as well as cherry sunburst. The year is indeed 90-91, because I have the same guitar with a rosewood board and I bought it in 1991 while I was in high school..

You have the most important part. If the trem is stock, it should be a Schaller Floyd.
I am a true ass set to this board.
