• 750XL Last Production Year?

1992 was the last year for the Charvel 750XL right?

Nope, 1989 was the ONLY year they were made.

Afterward, the model was converted, with some modifications, into the Jackson Archtop Soloist Professional, which was made in 1990-91, I believe.

Intro: 1989
Disc: 1990

It is possible that some were made in '90.

It is highly unlikely that any 750's were built in 1990. If so, the serial number would be C0 and no one on the JCF has one. All of ours read C9. Anyone?

Well, there you have it, from the 750XL guru himself.

Although, I've gotta say, I'm still not totally convinced that there was a method to the madness of serial numbers.

On the neckthru/setneck MIJ Charvels there certainly was a method to the madness, but the bolt-ons, who knows?

I guess therein lies my confidence issue... I don't have a neck-thru..

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the Charvel 750xl was 1989 only, though a few might have been made in 1990, one has yet to surface on the board. They were relabled with the Jackson logo and sold as Archtop Professionals.

Of course, they did more than relabel them to turn them into Jacksons. They added an ebony fretboard and made the body quite a bit thinner, I believe. The 750xl is amazing because it really feels and plays like a Les Paul trapped in a Jackson body...with all the attendant advantages. I played one in a store here for a long time...and when I finally got the scratch together to buy it, it was gone!!

But I'll get one eventually. Right now, my Model 5 serves me quite well.
