  • charvel san dimas

ok guys, im selling a takamine eg540 (electro-acoustic) and i called this guy who was selling an ibanez, to check if he wanted to trade.. to my surprise he sold the ibanez.. but is offering me know the charvel san dimas...

the weird thing is that the charvel doesnt say where it was made...(i have checked and charvel says some early models have that fault..) and its an old guitar like from 1987,(the older the better, for what i know) and he tells me that it is in a great great condition to be that old...

its in mahogany the body and the fretboard is in ebony and has 3 single-coils.. one fast-track and 2 other stocks i think...also 22 frets..
he also told me that the CHARVEL logo obiously says: CHarvel.. but jackson style O_O...(weird). and i really dont kow if this is authentic or not.. =(, if u guys can me help me out.. =)

    serial number = 352156

It's a Charvel 275DLX, the script logos were used between 1989 and 1992-ish. It is definitely not a San Dimas.

Harmony Central isn't a good source for Charvel or Jackson information. If you have questions, this is the place to ask them.

1000000000000000000000000000000000% positive it's not San Dimas.

My standard answer on value: Whatever you're willing to pay for it. They're solid guitars, but some of the components on this particular one are on the lower end.

The wood should be fine. Play it and see if you like it. If I wanted it, I might offer the guy somewhere between $200 - $250. They are decent, but I'd personally pass because I don't like the pickup config and I'm no fan of the single-locking trem. Check to be sure, but it looks like this one has the single-locker. If the strings feed though the fine-tuners rather than having Floyd style locking blocks, it is the single-locking version. It can be swapped out for a Schaller, but figure that into your price.

Abnother thing to look at is at the condition of the bridge. If it is all crapped up and your not willing to take the time to repair it, then add the cost of a new replacement into your calculation.
