• Charvel questione

Hey guys, my friend wants to buy a new charvel and would like to know some more about the guitar before buying it.

    Here is the guitar:

    serial number: 371467

The owner says it has a schaller floyd
and that the charvel is a custom model ???

He asks 450 euro is that a good price? ( remember i'm from the netherlands where jackson and charvels are very expensive )

Is the bridge any good? Will it stay in tune
How's the guitar in general? What pickups> etc.

    Thanks in advance guys

    Re: Charvel questione

That is an early 90s guitar transparent finish on ash body very desireable also it is a fusion plus model.Someone correct me if I'm wrong 24 3/4 scale. The shaller floyd is a very good unit you won't have any trouble with it staying in tune.
Those were discontinued in 92 MSR was 895.00.A
90% guitar should bring 350.00.Worth every penny.
Not sure on the pickups I would think J-80s maybe the JH 2 stickered ones, great pickups BTW
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

      It's not a custom model.

It's a Fusion Plus in trans-white over an ash body. The pickups are Jacksons - a J80 in the bridge and a J50 in the neck, with 5-way selector that coil-splits in positions 2 & 4. The Schaller should be a good solid bridge, depending on wear-and-tear of course. Great guitar

        Yep an ash fusion plus.

And I think the 5 way doesn't split the coils, it sets the pickups in/out of phase in positions 2 & 4.

Great guitar, I want one And to tell the truth If I saw one for $500 us I'd probably still grab it.

John, the pickup selector works thusly:

Of course, I've been wrong before....

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Nope, you can set humbuckers out of phase as well, in Les Paul circles this is known as "The Peter Green Mod".

I recognize that one. It's been on Ebay a few times and no one grabbed it.

I always wondered why, it looks sharp.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Nope it's not the same one. The one on Ebay was virtually new and had no wear on the Floyd whatsoever. I almost bought the other one, but the reserve was a tad too high.

In europe, $450 Euros is a very good price for that guitar.
