• Model ID?

Wondering what the model names are for 2 late '80s neckthru Charvels, both with bodies like model 5/6 and dot inlays. The first one has a single hum, second one has a Fusion config. Just curious, thanks!

Just found 'em in the gallery. 5a & 5fx. Anybody know what the stock pickups were on these?

The bridge humbucker on the 5A and 5FX was a Jackson J95 pickup made in the USA. I don't know what the neck pickup fitted to the 5FX was. A search on this site might tell you.

      Cheers - Steve

Thanks, Steve. I think I see a Model 5 or 5A in my future. That way I can leave my Model 6 stock with the J50BC, which I like most of the time. I still can't get over how undervalued these things are for the quality.

Thats cause they were pretty much an old-school Soloist in feel and design.

          They have the... vibe.

You can't find an import today to come even close to a Model 5 or 6 as far as I'm concerned.

A later import, the 750XL was another killer Charvel that could run with the high dollar USA axes.
