  • I'm a noob...pls help me identifying this Charvie...

Hi all. I'm new in here..
I've just purchased this Charvel which serial is:
    C702703
    Some specs:
    -Kahler bridge
    -Jackson Active pickups
    -Neck thru constuction

I can't get a pic of it atm but it seems to be this one:
    Model 6?
    Mine is metallized purpled.
If it's this one, do u think i could get a new locking nut?

    Welcome to the board!

Yeah, it sounds like it's a model 6. Great guitars! Take some pics when you get a chance!

For parts, check out http://www.fretsonthenet.com/ (run by a JCFer Budman)

Not sure if Budman has locking nuts. If not, go to the source:

      http://www.kahlerusa.com/home.html

      Otherwise, search Ebay for one.

BTW, for future reference, your guitar is an import, so try that section of the forum.

If the finish is original, the color was called "black cherry" by your description....cool color!

Jackson never made active pickups. They're all passive and can be used with active circuitry, like the JE1200 midboost which is most likely what your guitar has.
Sounds like an '87 Black Cherry Model 6 you've got. Does it look like this (minus the JT-6 trem in place of a Kahler, of course)?

everything is original. A friend of mine said it is a Japanese one...well it sounds ok even on my shitty amp
unfortunatly it's kinda "used". some scratches makes my head go b00m
anyway i'll soon post some pics....
damn 40$ for a locking nut

Cool. And welcome to the forum. I moved the thread from the USA Charvel section here to the Import section for ya, since it's Japanese.
