Ok, I've got some really crappy photos that I'd like to show to you guys of my 1986 Model 3a, but I need someone to post them fot me.
There is not a piece of wood on this axe that has not seen sandpaper. The only finish on it is a bi-weekly dousing of lemon oil on the body. As rough as it looks, it RIPS!!!
I can guarantee that I will never get rid of this guitar as it has been through alot with me.

Forgive my ignorance, but what the hell is that bridge ? May be the lack of sleep at work, but I can't recall seeing one of those before.

It's a Kahler Traditional trem as on the old Model series or Japanes Fenders. Did you paint it and use some other type of fine tuning screws?

Re: Pic uploads

budman got it right. it is a Kahler traditional trem (the guitar is a 1986 Model 3). It is a brass trem that I bouthg off of the bay, so it is not painted. I swapped out the original black one, but unfortunately, neither one had fine tuning screws when I bought it. I had to go to Lowes and just get some screws that fit it. While we're on the topic, does anyone have Kahler fine tuning screws for sale??? They are extremely hard to fine (I looked for three months before finally settling on the brass machine screws from Lowes).

Re: Pic uploads

Well, the seller's in L.A., and Kahlers
were manufactured in Anaheim, so if anybody had 'em lying around that'd be the place!

To me, if the screws are the right size and just as functional, I can live with
non-original parts that're 6 for $1.89 injstead of $3 apiece! My PS-2's locking nut has Phillips screws that were .89 for the 3-pack, and the clamps are from an Aria behind-the-nut lock I bought for $3
on Ebay. It clamps the strings just as well and I spent nil money on the beater!
Ron is the MAN!!!!

Hey Bombtek!

How long did it take you to get down to the wood on your rig? I have been thinking about doing the same thing with my Model 3A. Also, what type of pickups are you using? H-S-S??? Mine is H-H.

If this has already been covered, please forgive my blindness. i.e., stupidity.

Is it just me or does it look like it needs an intonation? Cool guitar tho'.I'll bet it took a LONG time to sand the paint.
