I think I've found a good deal on a Charvel fusion...

Pretty good shape, $235 shipped.

How good are these guitars?
Is it a fusion as in Fusion short scale?

what model Fusion is it? What pickup arrangement? What sort of inlays?

Yes, it has a short scale. I haven't played a Charvel Fusion, but have owned or played several Jackson ones and they are great guitars. $235 sounds like a pretty good price to me.

More details are needed! But generally, they're great models.

I've owned a Jackson Fusion Pro, a Charvel Fusion Special and a Charvel Fusion Custom.

The Fusion Custom is one of my favorites and I will not sell it anytime soon. The Fusion Pro was very nice. The Special... well, I wouldn't buy this one. The Floyd Rose model it comes with sucks and the pickups are not very good and difficult to replace. It has an odd pickup configuration where the bridge and middle pickups are two single-coil sized stacked humbuckers stuck together at a slant. To replace them with a decent humbucker you have to do serious routing to make it fit. Not worth it.

Basically, any Fusion model other than a Special for $235 is a great deal.

I just picked up a Fusion special for $175 and am in the process of doing a total cleanup/set-up restoration type thing. Even though the frets are crusty, it doesn't look like this thing has ever left the persons bedroom-there is 0 fretwear! over all it seems like a decent axe, and the pickups sounded decnt, but i will play arouns with them a bit. And best of all.....pointy headstock....yummy.....

You can replace those slanted singles with stacked hums like the JB Jr and Lil Screamin Demon or Lil 59 [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

But between replacing the pickups, the shitty Floyd and the lack of a tone control, I wasn't willing to spend the time and money on that guitar when I could just buy another guitar that has all the right features for the same money. So, I sold it to another enthusiast and everybody was happy. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Oh, and I have a Lil 59 in my JCS and I LOVE that pickup! [img]graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]
