• Charvel Pro Plus - First time post

    Hello,

First post. Just ordered a pro plus in faded tobacco from zzounds for $599. I cannot believe the price. Similar guitars are going for 1200. Mahogany body, quilted maple top,
Birds eye with ebony fret board neck, SD pearly gates humbucker and two SD lil screaming devils stacked pickups and a Floyd copy. I should get it by Monday.

I have been playing for the past 18 years; the first 5 years I had a Charvel model 2 which I Truly loved. Unfortunately the neck snapped off while I was throwing the guitar to my friend back in the day. After that I only played Gibson LP and my tele. So, I am super excited to do my first dive on the whammy in 13 years.

I would love to hear other people’s thoughts on this model; I bought this guitar based on features and looks alone and my 80’s glamour band memories. I must say I prefer the start head look alike to the pointy ones. I know I will keep this guitar for the rest of my living years. Every one needs a speed machine. Just got tired of 60’s and 70’s Classic Rock tones. I was in need of variety.

I have a Natural Maple Quilt Model A+ Pro that was delivered last week.. It was delivered with the wrong trem arm among other defects including a crack dead center on the Ebony fretboard from the 18th to the 22nd frets

The vendor has sent a replacement out Monday(I opted for Trans Blue this time) along with a prepaid label for return shipping on the defective one I have now.. Can't ask for more than that...

Having said all that I can tell that if this guitar were minus the flaws it has it would be an incredible instrument. I love the non cracked sections of the Ebony fretboard.

The Birdseye neck/headstock are beautifull. The biggest suprise is how well the Pearly Gates Humbucker matches up with the Lil Screamin Demons. I really didn't think that would be the case. I'm confident you'll like your Model A+ Pro.. Alot of features for the price

Just thought I'd post a pic of the Model A+ Pro in Trans Blue

This instrument is a very solid quality instrument(with exception of the JT580 trem).. I really don't understand the lack of interest in these Charvels

I have that exact guitar as well( natural). I love the natural quilted top and it sounds fantastic. I've got the GHS "Fatties" on it 10-47. They seem to have calmed the iceyness of the guitar down a bit and now it sounds great! I don't know why no one seems to like the newer Charvels much. It's a $1000+ guitar that can be had for the mid $500s. Well it's our secret I guess

Well, Got my charvel on Friday and I just shipped back to get a refund. The instrumnet had no soul and heart. It looked good on paper but when I actually palyed it felt cheap. I blame it on cheap wood used and that crappy tremlo system that they have on there. Even if you change to a Real Floyd the guitar still lacks acoustics to be a good axe. This is just my opnion.

          Regards,
