Hey there guys. A few months ago I started buying up some 3a parts on ebay. I got a neck, body, pickups etc. I didn't know how it was wired so I hook it up as follows: 1 neck humbucker,2 single coil closest to neck, 3 both hb's, 4 coil closest to bridge, 5 bridge hb. I think this will be a good versatile guitar only I can't get the neck pickup to work as a hb I only get the sound out of position 4 and in position 5 it's dead. Anyone got any j80c's for the neck lying around? I also need the covers for the back and the oval jack plate. I think if I ever finish this guitar it will be my dream guitar the neck is awesome.

Contact our own Budman for all your control cavity cover needs !! - good luck with your project !!
Also - if you think you have a wiring problem you might want to check with guitarelectronics.com or seymourduncan.com If you think it's a dead pickup then never mind Also keep in mind that some of the Jackson color codes were different from standard ( hot & ground colors reversed)

Re: My charvel model 3a project
I *just* last night finished my Model 3A project. Here's the schematic I used to wire up the Dimarzio Air Norton (neck) and Dimarzio Tone Zone (bridge):

I love the tones, especially the 2 and 4 position. No noise, not Stat-ish - just nice and clean."You are so stupid that I am surprised you have not collapsed into a singularity of stupidity." - Anon

Re: My charvel model 3a project
Hey Budman, I will be making an order from you. I just sold something on ebay and I want to make sure the customer's happy before I start spending the money.
I got the wiring all fixed up. The schematic doesn't quite match the 5-way switch do they? I was going nuts trying to figure what the problem was.
I'd like to get a jt-6 somewhere. The trem on it now isn't in the best shape.
Anyone know a good source for that cool blue paint charvel used to use?
