hmm, I thought Romeo used a set of 81's in the time of TDWOT, at least that is what I heared (it actually really sounds like a 81 to me). I must say, I only liked his rhythm sound on that album, the lead was somewhat hollow. Now it is more "filled", but that is a matter of taste.
I have no clue wheter hotrails have the same sound characteristics as the 85.

I was pretty sure that was 85 in the neck... Btw my guitar teacher, huge Romeo-freak, has got a lame Ltd M200 with Emg81/85 and PODpro... plus, most important, years and years of Romeo studying... and he has quite the same sound (pretty sure 'bout it, that freak re-recorded by himself the whole TDWOT and the last Odyssey).
