Model 4M (pic) ?

I'm pretty sure this is a model 4M (maple), can someone clarify that for me. Havn't seen any others of these here, i guess they're fairly rare. Click for model 4M pic

That is beautiful and I don't mean to burst anyones bubble but how do you know that isn't a maple neck from another Model just bolted on there? Unless you bought this new? I'm just curious how you can tell. I know sometimes it's marked on the end of the neck correct?

I bought this new around 89-90, its pretty heavey.
I just love it, but had never seen another similar.

My Model 4 was a 4M. I wanted the neck on a Model 2 so I switched them. There's a model 4M on eBay right now I believe.

I had a Model 4M in the same color. I think they had a great vibe going with the maple neck. The Model 4 was the ultimate Japanese Hot Rod Strat.
