Info on Model 2 humbucker needed please. I got one the other day and it measures almost 17k on the meter. Was this a J90 or something like it?

I feel the opposite, I don`t think the J90C has any life too it. Too much Bass and not enough mids and highs, i`ll probably go with a JB or Distortion. Jack.

Thats a hot J-90c most of mine test 15.6 to 16.5.The J90c rock I have to disagree with Jack on this one.In a model 2 or model 1 the J90c is an excellent pickup nice 80s tone.I find the J95 to be a bit darker wit a little less high end.I put a J95 in my swamp ash star mutt and it sounds great.The ash body needed a fat dark pickup and the J95 fills the bill.

The funny thing is that some J90C have adjustable polepeices (sometimes in black and sometimes in chrome)and some do not.

Can anyone explain this?

In my experience (which is limited) the ones that just say the model number and position are from the '86 models, and were labeled witht he model number in later years. the polepiece differences may just be different years.
