    ok this is what I need to know I am on the market for another charvel I have a 86 model 6(kahler) and am looking on ebay daily for a model 5a(one hum).was the model 5a a guitar model available in 86 I want the kahler but if I see them(rarely) they have the Jfloyd and are red or pink I would like a black one or blue I sold my 2000 Jackson sl2 about a month ago because I never played it always reached for my charvel the neck is way more comfortable infact I also still own a us fender strat plus and a usa bc rich warlock and I liked playing them more than the Jackson but still always went for the Charvel I owned the Fender and the Rich longer than the charvel or Jackson I guess when you find something that works for you stick with it

    i don't know that you'll find one. i have a pearl one, but, seeing as how they're the second rarest model charvel (right? [img]graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] ), i'm betting they all came w/ the JT6.

      They only made the 5A in 1988, and hence all of them have JT-6 Floyds. You could get a regular 1986 Model 5 dual-hum guitar with a Kahler, and just disconnect the neck pickup and lower it all the way...I know that's not quite the same!! [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

      You'd probably have to look for an '80s Soloist to find a single-hum/Kahler/neckthru combo. But the good news is that the Kahler would keep the price down to a dull roar. The bad news is that such an instrument would probably be very difficult to find.
