Anybody know what the factory equipped Jackson pickup model numbers are on the Charvel Model 6 (1986 model if it makes a difference)? SSH config, thanks.

J-50BC in bridge. Other two are J-200 stacked humbuckers. Same pickups as in the Model 4."Your work is ingenius…it’s quality work….and there are simply too many notes…that’s all, just cut a few, and it’ll be perfect." -

I prefer to change my pickups. I've got a set of Duncans in my 650XL. A lot of people really like the stock Jackson pickups, though. It is all a matter of personal preference.Comment

Its a taste thing for me too.I love the Jackson pickups.The mod 6 stock set up is fine but I have found an EMG 81 and two SAs sound killer in a model six.Any of the ash or mahogony bodied Jackson/Charvel sound great with duncan pickups (JB,59s,DD,custom 5 etc.)But its a personal preference. Well, I can tell you that I didn't like the J90C in my old Fusion Deluxe. I do like the Model's 6's humbucker though. I like the middle stacked single as well and I don't really like the neck though (yes I know they're both the same but, their mounting position isn't).Comment

I've got a 650Custom and I like the stock Jackson pickups. I play this guitar every couple of weeks or so, and I'm impressed with its sound, every time I pick it up.
I once thought of selling it, then played it that day, and had to ask myself WTH I was thinking!Comment
