I've got a model 2 ive been thinking about changing for some time and I was wondering if the original locking nut that came on it would work with an original floyd rose if i put one on?

Yeah, that'll work. I personally like switching those flate-bade screws at the lock nut with allen-wrench ones, as I can torque them down better. BTW, the OFR should be a 42 mm long block for a drop-in replacement."Your work is ingenius…it’s quality work….and there are simply too many notes…that’s all, just cut a few, and it’ll be perfect."

speaking of Model 2's, I had not played mine in about 3 weeks, and it's been hot as hell out here in CA, and my other guitars have been needing tuneups every time I pick them up, but the 2 was almost spot on yesterday when I played it finally.
and mine is the 86 version with the Kahler Fulcrum. it's always worked great for me, but I don't use the trem much anymore. got that out of my system a while back.the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives
