I won it for $162.00 and believe me when I tell you this thing is nearly mint. A solid 9 out of 10 and all original.

I was supposed to replace the stock J90C (not a bad pickup to begin with and reminds me of a JB) with a Full Shred but the Full Shred arrived dead and I am waiting for a refund as we speak. I'll still try to find another mind you.

The stock JT-6 was quickly replaced with a Schaller Floyd except that today I realized that the Schaller has a shorter block and the springs rub the guitar body. I actually ended the ebay auction that I had for the JT-6 and reinstalled it. For now.

I'll still end up with a better Floyd [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img] tremolo as the JT-6 is a good design with crap metal for construction.

I will not bother changing the Kahler style nut as I do not float the bridge and it seems to work well as is. I want to be able to return the guitar to stock in the future if need be. I am sure that this will not be my last Model 2.

I can tell you this:

Model 5: JT-6 Didn't stay in tune after using trem or fine tune.

Model 6: JT-6 Didn't stay in tune after using trem or fine tune.

Model 3DR: Removed grungy JT-6, soaked it in WD40 and WOW ! It performs fabulously !! Love it !!

So I'd say keep it clean, like Budman told me !!

I've got many guitars with the JT-6, the OFR is better, but I dont really have a problem with them.

Well as you all know the block on the Schaller was too short so I reinstalled the JT-6. I made a point to disassemble the unit and totally clean it before putting it back onto the guitar. I do not want it to float and at the same time I do not want dings on the body when it "slams down" so I crazy glued a thin felt line underneath the fine tuners tension plate.

What effect this has on the tone is questionable but at least no damage will be made.

Still prefer a real Floyd or Schaller but I musr grudingly admit that there are far worse tremolo's to be had.

You could take the block from the JT-6 and put it on the Schaller.

OK, I like the JT-6 on my Model 2, but can`t stand the Jackson pickup in it, too much bass and not enough mids and highs. I am probably going with a JB or Distortion. Overall, I love the Model 2, the only thing that would be cool is if the heel was tapered, but it`s cool [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] Jack.
