...how'd I do?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">If I were in school, I'd be sneaking a peek at someone else's test, but since I have to guess, I'm guessing a flatmount. I'm basing this on the fact that I sometimes see pictures of the 86 model 6's without a trem cavity plate.

I'm sorry, you're both wrong(crowd roars "Awwwwwww"). They were the Kahler Traditional Series trems. Ok, next question:

I have a question, hope I'm not thread hijacking here. Were any of the models equipped stock with a locking nut (ones with JT6) or did they all come with the string lock behind the nut? My model 4 has a Kahler locking nut, but most that I see on ebay have string locks. Personally I can't seem to get guitars with string locks to stay in tune as well as ones with locking nuts. But enough about my nuts..... [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

I believe the Models 4-6 had the Kahler Pro flatmount. The Model 3 had a Flyer, and the Model 2 had the floyd looking trem (not sure of the model).

Fishblister - I believe most Models had the string locks behind the nut. I don't think they started using the locking nut until the toothpaste logo guitars.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'm sorry, you're mistaken. The Model 2, 3, 3a had the Kahler Traditional Series trems(pivoted on 2 posts like a floyd). I don't believe any Charvels ever came with a Kahler Flyer. You are correct though that Models 4 thru 6 had the Kahler flatmounts but some were the Pro Model(black stainless rollers) and some were the Standard Models(brass rollers). There's a question I could ask someone, does anyone know when Charvel stopped using the Kahler Pros and switched to the Standards? I know they used them on the 86 Model series but does anyone know when they switched?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Kahler Flatmounts are either Flyers (thankfully quite rare), or PRO, or Standard (standards had Brass rollers and cam,), the Flyers are
The correct Model numbers for the Flatmount Pro/ Standard are:

2300 = steel cam and rollers, 2310 = Steel cam And rollers, with "Palm bar", and 2320 with Brass cam and rollers.

BTW, the 2200 series are the same trems, but made for sutd-mounting on for example Ginsons [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img]
