• Input jack for Active Electronics

The input jack on my Model 4 fell to pieces last night. Can I replace this with a standard stereo 1/4" jack?

No sir, it has to be a stereo input jack.

Stereo? Does it? I'll have to check that on mine, must be for the battery.

A stereo jack disconnects the battery (and saves juice!) when the guitar is unplugged.

Actually, any stereo input jack will work. Dave, I think you didn't read that in his question. Jackson used those black plastic sheet jacks as opposed to the more standard three prong metal jacks.

Yeah really Joe, you're absolutely right, what a nipple I am... But now that you bring up the subject, I had a model 6 that I tried using a stereo jack(without the black plastic housing) that I got from Radio Shack and it wouldn't fit in the body correctly so I had to modify the jack itself a bit to make it fit properly. Sorry about confusing you if I did Grandturk!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">No worries. I figured if you said stereo, any stereo jack would work. I'll just pick up a switchcraft jack. I was mostly concerned that the black plastic original had something else going on besides being a stereo jack.
