I should post pics of my Model 6. It's basically the same thing you are doing on your 3A. It was a pawnshop find, and all the active stuff was taken out. Since I usually only use the bridge humbucker, I took out the other 2 pickups, and dropped a green Dimarzio Super 3 in there. I have only one knob, and one mini toggle switch left on it, which is now a kill switch only. Has sort of that Steve Vai thing going, I guess. Sounds killer, too.

i´d go for a mini-toggle
i love mini toggles
tey´re easier to handle and much quieter than a push pull
switching a push pull (even at low volumes) always will "plong" through your sound especially when mounted on a picguard
as i said i would go for the mini toggle
go on show us you results
nice work so far

I think what you are doing Todd is cool, these import parts make great players if you use good pickups and trems, which you are. I have about 6-8 of these (couple I need to put together, been burned out on projects the last few months) and they make some of my best players. I sand down the back of the necks with 600 wet/dry to get rid of the sticky lacquer feel.
Post some pictures when you get her finished.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thanks man, I agree totally. As far as I'm concerned as long as you have a decent body and a straight neck, you can turn just about anything into an excellent guitar. Even if you can get your hands on a full-on solid body Charvette and upgrade the guts and hardware you could turn it into a great player.
I'll get some "before" picutres up ASAP and I'll snap some pics while it's being completed.
