  • String Lock Plates

Was wondering if the string lock plate on the locking nut is the same on all Charvel models. Mine is a 87' Charvel Mod 6. Music shop set it up and when I got it back, locking plate was missing. My locknut has 3 flathead screws that screw into stringlock plate.

I believe that '87 and '88 were all the same, just like the one you described. '86 was a Kahler and in '89 they went to the Floyd Schaller type nut.

they might not be missing, I had the same problem occur, and all that I needed to do was remove the locknut on top, they just get stuck in the truss rod route, you should find them there, good luck

Mine came off the screw the other night when I changed strings. I held the guitar face down and giggled it until the plate got close to the screw, then screwed it in.

              Good Call
I went home tried looking under the locknut, didn't see anything, then got a flashlight, looked again but still didn't see anything. I checked one more angle and sure enough I seen the threads to the plate stuck in the truss rod route. Used a toothpick to wiggle out the piece and hooked back up. Played that night with it. Back in business! Thanks <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I will find a way or make one
