  • Charvel Model 1C Tuning Problems

Does anyone else here who owns a Model 1C have any tuning problems? Mine will NOT stay in tune! I have to tune (especially D,B,and e) it after a minute of playing. It's almost to the point where i won't even play it anymore. Maybe i need a setup? Thanx

Re: Charvel Model 1C Tuning Problems

I've found that the import Charvels with vintage trems don't hold a tune very well unless you secure the bridge.

I screw in the spring claw all the way and make sure that the bridge never leaves the body. Once you make the bridge secure you shouldn't have any problems. It makes it almost like a string through.

Unless you do this, even a simple string bend can throw the whole guitar out of tune. A bend can pull the string tension over the nut making it seem longer, therefore changing the tension on the bridge, which makes everything go out of whack.

Secure the bridge, you shouldn't have any problems.
