Re: Charvel Avenger

I got this one from a fellow JCF bro and it totally kicks ass. I got the flame kit from another JCF'r. Great neck. I have had a few others and they were equally as good. Mine is fairly unusual though because it has a factory stock normal sized Charvel bladed humbucker and pickup bezel. Many of the Avengers have that side by side single coil type humbucker cut out in the bridge.
I believe they were only produced from 91' to mid 92'.
I feel it is a step above the Jackson RX10D mainly because of the neck profile. It is a typical Charvel Model series neck all the way!

You will want to route out the bridge slot for a full HB, and replace the bridge with an OFR or similar double locker. WIth all the mods, you might be better off getting one of the Jap made rhoads from Jackson.

While the p/u config is similar (3 single coils, two in the bridge, one in the neck), I think the neck scale is a big difference. If I had to make the same comparison to another strat-shaped guitar, I'd say it's closer to the 275DLX.

Mine came factory stock with a double locking full floating trem. It stays in perfect pitch no matter what I do to it. I agree with Tekky 100%. It feels very much like a 275dlx. I have one of those too.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yeah, I had to do away with that pickup setup. Here's what I did to mine Mr. Norther(sorry, don't know your first name and I'm sure it's not Child )

I turned it into a 24 fret Jackson

Dave, I thought your Avenger was kickass the first time I saw it completed. It still is bro!! After looking at a pic of yours, I need to take my pic down for sure!
