• What have I got?

Hey - I know how much you guys know so please help me out on this if you can
Just bought another Charvel.
24 fret bolt on neck, rosewood board with dot inlays.
H S S with 5 way switch and only one volume knob
What looks a bit like a JT 500 but stamped Charvel
Toothpaste logo on headstock but guitar logos on pickup covers and tuners.

I think it's a fusion but I've not seen one with only one knob.
Any ideas one model and date please.

If it's a fusion, it will have a scooped lower horn and, most importantly, a 24.75" scale length neck. Do you have pics?

Just take a tape measure and measure from the nut(the inside of the nut where the strings make contact) and measure to the 12th fret. If it's 12-3/8ths inches, it's a fusion. If it measures 12-3/4 inches, it's not a fusion but a strat scale(25-1/2").

The only guitar so far that maches that description is the Fusion SS (if in fact it is a Fusion) but the thing is that the SS was a Jackson branded model. Is it possible that the neck is not orignal?

Thanks for all the info guys.
I forgot to mention it's 24.75 scale length.
I haven't got any pictures at the moment because it's in bits.It was is a bit of a state when I bought it.
I think it's all original as the numbers on the neck heel match the neck pocket.

P.S The trem block has a guitar logo stamped on the top but underneath it says TAKEUCHI made in japan.

I thought all Toothpaste fusions came with the
schaller FR?

Thanks everyone.
When I've got it back together I'll post a picture and ask the question again.
With the 24.75 scale length should I go up a string gauge. I normally use 9-46's, would 10-52's give the same tension?

Use what ever strings you want scale length doesn't matter.I use 9-42s on my Jackson fusion.

No, 10-42s will give you a higher tension. I personally change string guages depending on the tuning that I use. For example on E tuned guitars, I use 9s. When I go Eb and Dropped D the string guage goes to 9½. On D and Dropped C, I use 10s.
