I need a neckplate for a Model 1, what works?

Assuming I don't want to shell out the 30 or so dollars the charvel neckplates are going for on ebay, will the generic plates work? I'm thinking something like this:

Does anybody have any experience with replacing neckplates?

I got one for a model 2 that I parted a few years ago I'll give you, Let me find it and it's yours

Don't worry, I quadrupaled my money on the guitar and parts that were on it so I'm not worried. I actually just found it since I was in my parts bin messing with my project strat so just PM me your address and I'll send it out Mon.
