  • Unless I'm getting old there was never a Charvel Model 6 from the Jackson Custom Shop

I think this guy is plain nuts!

If he thinks that he will get well over a thousand dollars for what amounts to a standard Charvel Model 6 then he must have bought some awesome crack to say the least!

Is is not our job on this forum to inform this nutcase before he rips off a poor soul?

I saw the same item and was suprised at the price, but you never know, someone may do it. If someone does, I'll need to get his email address so I can offer him my guitar tuner for $600.00 bucks.

So we can pretty much agree that this is just a plain old japanese Charvel Model 6 then?

Can anyone correct me please or could this somehow actually be a Jackson Custom Shop model?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Take a look at the Serial, if it starts with a C, it´s Japanese. IIRC, there were NO model 6s made in the USA, just like all the Professionals were Japanese.

This reminds me of the confusion regarding my model 6

The way the paintjob was done (HS binding covered, but not the neck Binding, and the original logo seamlessly incorporated into the painted headstock) and the quality it is, quite a few of us seemed to think something really strange had happened. Then I took a good look at the 2 dings on the tip of the headstock, and noticed the front one was significantly lighter than the back one. That brought us to believe it´s a (pro) refinished Model 6.

Re: Unless I\'m getting old there was never a Charvel Model 6 from the Jackson Custom Shop

I emailed the guy for the serial number and "a friend selling it for him" replied with a serial number starting with "C"

I then managed to email the "real" seller and this is what he replied in regards to me "informing" him that it was a plain old MADE IN JAPAN Model 6.

"Just got off the phone with Jackson-Charvel and they told me that the serial numbers for allot of the early 80's were lost but they also said that this guitar is in fact a US Made Model 6 birth date 1985-86 there isn't enough to proove that it is a custom so we took it off the ad as you may have already seen. Also we are about to change the price to a lower cost as they had also said that the blue book shows it being worth about $800-$1,500. I am not calling Jackson again as there were about 5 guy's working on this when I called. If you are still enterested if not that is also fine. Have a nice day"

                Uh ya!!!!

Lost serial numbers!! How lucky for him!

I sent an email to them both explaining the situation calmly, with all the facts. Hopefully they'll take notice.

He got back to me a day after I contacted him.He was pretty angry about all the people who were contacting him telling him the truth. He was pretty rude and told me he just called Jackson and they did indeed confirm this was a custom shop.I then told him I would like to buy the guitar after he gave me the name of the Jackson rep who confirmed it...still no reply.
