I've played Jackson Soloist SL1 and don't see any difference (than rosewood fingerboard instead of ebony and price) to Charvel Model 6. I was really lucky to find Model 6 in this condition. This one rocks...altought Jackson KV-2 is my main axe

Another Model 4 user here! It's my main axe in my RATM project... Because of the kill switches...

I think the Model 4 is one of the all time great guitars period! I used to own a Model 6 and I currently own a 1990 USA Fusion, but I think a good Model 4 edges them both out sonically. I like the two extra frets on the Model 6 and on my Fusion, but realistically, I hardly ever play up there and I think the Model 4's 22 fret board gives it a sweeter sound with any of the PUP combinations that include the neck PUP, because the neck PUP is closer to the center of the length of your strings. I also prefer the sound of Rosewood fingerboards to Ebony. Finally, the bolt on neck also gives it more of a Straty sound, and I have never personally noticed any loss of sustain with a bolt on.
