I got my Charvel Model 6 from UK last week. It's from '86 with Kahler tremolo. The overall condition is great. I believe the guitar has been under the bed or in the garage for many years. I polished the frets with steel wool and put some lemon oil to the fretboard. Now it's shining

I've played Jackson Soloist SL1 and don't see any difference (than rosewood fingerboard instead of ebony and price) to Charvel Model 6. I was really lucky to find Model 6 in this condition. This one rocks...altought Jackson KV-2 is my main axe

I had both an 86 model 4 and an 86 model 6, and like a fool, I got rid of them, years ago. Sorry I ever did that, especially after looking at all of them, here.

I think the Model 4 is one of the all time great guitars period! I used to own a Model 6 and I currently own a 1990 USA Fusion, but I think a good Model 4 edges them both out sonically. I like the two extra frets on the Model 6 and on my Fusion, but realistically, I hardly ever play up there and I think the Model 4's 22 fret board gives it a sweeter sound with any of the PUP combinations that include the neck PUP, because the neck PUP is closer to the center of the length of your strings. I also prefer the sound of Rosewood fingerboards to Ebony. Finally, the bolt on neck also gives it more of a Straty sound, and I have never personally noticed any loss of sustain with a bolt on.

I loved my Model 4...at the time, it was a HELL of a guitar for the price.
