  • Do I need a Trem spaced pickup with a Kahler

I am looking to replace the pickup in one of my 86 Charvel Model 6s. Does the pickup need to be F or Trembucker spaced? It has the flat mount kahler.

    i don't think so.

i have a jackson with a kahler. it has a unique JB and is standard spacing. you'll be ok with a standard spaced pup.

One of the cool things about a Kahler is that the saddle spacing is adjustable, so either will work. My '85 Charvel originally had a standard spaced pickup, and now has a TB-5.

Kahlers...wow, It's been a while since I've seen one of those.

My opinion is that string spacing and polepieces is really not a big deal. Way back when, I used whatever humbuckers I had and they all sounded fine.

I do think the Kahlers have the wider spacing, so a trem or f-spaced pup would be ideal, no? If money is an issue, or you have already have something you want to use, use anything with no worries.

Kahlers are adjustable so you can use what you want!
