  • Charvel Standard question

Hi guys. First post. I own a couple of Jacksons. Love 'em.

I'm really interested in the Charvel Standard that was made in Japan a few years ago... 24 frets maple neck, dual humbuckers, etc.

I played one at NAMM about 4 years ago and loved it. Never got around to buying one when they were new. For those of you that have one, how is it?

I can't wait to get into the classified section to see if anyone wants to sell one. Thanks!

First off. Welcome to the board. Hang around a while so we can get to know you. The "Classifieds" are "Sanctifides", so settle back and contribute to the board. Or, boy, are you in for it.:ROTF: :ROTF:
I am a true ass set to this board.

I already read the rules so I know I can't look at the Classifieds right away. I'll contribute as much as I can, although I don't have the knowledge that most of you seem to have. Wow!

Reading the rules is a good thing. Getting used to us takes time. It's nothing personal. Unless it is.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:

I never played a standard, but I played a journeyman and liked it. I think its the same but with one humbucker. I also owed a traditional and a model A and loved both of them. Selling those are the 2 biggest regrets I have made in selling guitars. The neck on a stanard I think is thinner and I would have refered to have that. The quilt tops are REAL and very high quality too. 5A I think

I have a traditional and my son has a Model A+.
Both are good quality guitars, though the pots and tuning pegs could be of higher quality.
Overall I feel those Japan models were very high quality and worth twice what they usualy go for used on the Bay. Anything under $400 is a steal IMO.

But those models do have their detractors, mostly for the headstock.

Personally, I love the headstock design. I wish Jackson was still using it.
