Model 6 What jind of wood is this???

I was trying to figure out what kind of wood my model 5 was made of and the I found this on ebay. A naked Model 6. Looks like a maple neck, but what wood makes up the sides??? Koa???? Korina???

Interesting photo's just the same, they really show the quailty of these guitars!!!!!

Maple neck thru, poplar body wings. Excellent guitars. I currently have a Model 5 and just recently sold my Model 6. Check out the followng catalog scans. They are courtesy of JCF member jackson1 (Henrik).

The picture of the model 5 is almost identical to my model 5, except mine has a USA Kahler. Thanks. They are awesome guitars, My Charvel was my main axe during the mid eighties and into the early nineties. Back when I had long hair and a flat gut. Now all I have is the Charvel and a ton of great memories!!!

the wiring of that model6 is a total mess!
Should be re-wired asap!

It's hard to get it a whole lot neater than that. In fact, judging by the pickups, that may even be how it left the factory. There are a ton of wires in a Model 6. When mine was bone stock it looked pretty similar, and I was only able to tidy things up a little when I put new pickups in.
