Finally got a few pictures at the bottom. Been lurking for the last couple of weeks and I am impressed with the forum. Everybody is willing to help those that are just getting into Charvels. I bought a Model 3A at the pawn shop, great condition, and had it set-up last week. This is the first electric I have owned, always acoustic before. As soon as I figure out how to put a picture in, I will show you what I got for $150.00. Two Jackson humbuckers, original Floyd Rose, great sound. I even found Budman and ordered a trem bar and a back spring cover. He is the man. Anyway, thanks for all the help and thanks for having us new guys feel so welcome. Now if I can just not break any rules, you guys are brutal in that department!! See ya around.

Welcome man, I examined your post thoroughly but dammit, I can't find any errors or rules you broke! You're not any fun, greenskeeper!
Seriously, congrats on the 3A.

My first Charvie was a Model 3, HSS...I traded a MIJ Strat for it in 1987. It was white with a black pick guard. Ended up putting an EMG 81 hum, dummied the middle pup and an EMG 85 single and a 3 way switch. It had a Kahler Tremlo. It was rode hard and put away wet giging intil I sold it in 1997. Man I miss that guitar. I also had a Model 6 w/dot inlay neck thru as well with Jackson Active 'buckers and a Jackson trem. Great guitar as well. It was my budget Soloist, I gave $300 for it in 1994.

welcome, Mr. green, the 3A is a fantastic guitar and is a solid player.
txrob: sounds like you had a Model 5 instead of a Model 6. The 6 had sharkies and the 5 had dots and 2 hums. I think I've owned just about every Model series (made for america (no, not in america lol!) and I've yet to be disappointed!Dave ->
"would someone answer that damn phone?!?!"

JZ-Your avatar looks a lot like these pictures. It's kinda small and can't see it too well. What is that? Looks like maple neck and a couple of humbucks?Last edited by greenskeeper; 11-12-2006, 04:04 PM.
