  • neck radius

    came to this form for an education on charvels. If there are any real guitar ennthusiests here..Deos anyone know what the neck radius is on my model2.

    Also,
    charvel strat head necks, which Im searching for right now, how close is the neck profile and the neck radius to my model2 neck?

    It goes into good detail about the compound radius (conical) fretboards on the Charvel Model Series. They were 12" - 16" compound radius, rounder at the nut & flatter as you go up the board. The new stratheads, unlike the old San Dimas ones, also have the compound radius fretboard. As far as thickness & backshape comparisons, that's a little harder. The new strathead specs were posted a while ago & they are slightly thinner at the 3rd fret and a bit thicker at the 12th fret than the new USA pointy head Charvel necks. Be aware that these necks are finished by hand, so there will be some variation. My new pointy is in the same ballpark as my Model Series necks, but not exactly identical, so figure the new strathead neck will probably be a little thicker at the 12th than your Model 2. The big difference is in the oil finish vs. the clearcoat on the Model Series neck. It's awesome.
