      You mean a 250k instead of a 500k?
CTS makes the some of the best out there.
25k pots are typicaly used for active (EMG) pickups.

No, the active circuit in the Jackson electronics takes a 50K pot.

I think this may be the pot you need.

You may be able to get the GuitarElectronics guys to help you out by emailing them using the "contact us" link at the top right of the page. Apparently they get pretty pissed off if you phone them about web orders. The only member here that I know of who has swapped out the pot on one of the JE-1200 boards is Dave (Budman68). If you send him a PM, he might be able to walk you through it.

Yes, Dana (dg) is correct. I replaced one with another used pot from a cooked JE-1200 preamp. I've also heard of someone using jumpers but I believe they ran into problems and my guess is that they got the circuit board too hot.

It can be done, but care has to be taken as the boards seem sensitive to heat. The pot that dana pointed out looks to be correct or at least "close enough" for the solder legs to line up with the board connections.

50K pot is recommended, however, a 25K pot will in fact work, I've done it once and there was no discernable difference.
